Clerical

Assist staff with everyday duties as needed.

Qualifications: Experience with working in an office setting, including filing, organizational skills and computer experience.

E.R./Outpatient Ambassador and Surgery Waiting Room

Relate information to surgery patients’ families from recovery and identify family members for staff. Also check in on patients and family members waiting to be seen to determine if they need anything; act as an ambassador and liaison between the nursing staff and the family members.

Qualifications: Must be able to communicate with persons of different backgrounds and ages, perform clerical duties such as filing and record-keeping and understand computer information relating to patients in recovery.

Hospitality Cart/Volunteer Patient Visitor

Offer items and nutritional snacks free of charge to the patients on the different nursing floors. Volunteer Patient Visiting is also a key component in this job duty as you go from room to room.

Qualifications: Must be able to communicate with persons of different backgrounds and ages; be a people person and outgoing.

Information Desk/PBXC Operator Volunteer

Act as a goodwill ambassador for all visitors and patients at Saint John. Handle patient information inquiries in person and on the telephone. Transfer phone calls as needed.

Qualifications: The ability to hear and talk on the telephone. The willingness to escort patients by foot or wheelchair; along with having good public relations skills. Self-starters with outgoing personalities do best in this type of placement.

Knitters/Sewer

Lap Blankets are needed. Also Walker Bags are needed for the patients who use Walkers

Qualifications: Sewing, Knitting or Crocheting.

Popcorn ministry

Prepare and distribute popcorn to employees on various units. Part of the employee satisfaction program./

Qualifications: Friendly, committed, stand for periods of time.

Saint John Medical Group – Family Care Leavenworth

Answer phones, stock supplies, keep forms stocked and replenished, assist patients and other office/clerical work as needed and requested.

Qualifications: Have excellent communication and phone skills, sense of humor, able to empathize with patients, knowledge of simple office procedures and be able to sit for prolonged periods.

Senior Behavioral Health Unit

The purpose of this position is to assist the nursing associates in meeting the needs of patients. This could include mealtimes, walks with the patients, downtimes with the patients and/or rounding to check in on them and make sure they don’t need anything.
